The founder
The founder, Alpika Singh, hails from a small town Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. A Science graduate from Kanpur University and post graduate in GMT (Garment manufacturing Technology) from NIFT, Gandhinagar- Gujarat (National Institute of Fashion Technology), Alpika landed in city of dreams- Mumbai !
After a successful career starting as Asst. Buyer and progressing to Head Buying & Merchandising with retail giants Shoppers Stop, Pantaloon Retail India Ltd., Aza Fashions Pvt. Ltd., she bid adieu to corporate world to follow her inner calling- Social Work !
A desire that started with visits to local NGOs, orphanages, old age homes soon moved on to personal interaction with owners, with kids, old age people, which made the urge deeper and she started making substantial contributions to the cause in various ways. Taking a step further, she gave her skills of arts & crafts a formal direction, pursued courses to refine them and started teaching creative art & craft. During these workshops she realized the gaps in early childhood education and to contribute effectively towards this, she successfully completed National level double diploma in ECCEd (Early Childhood Care and Education) and is a qualified pre-primary teacher. She began conducting formal workshops for kids and teachers in villages, remote local schools, orphanages.
Inspired by her work, friends & family started joining the cause and this motivation sowed the seeds of starting an NGO. With a humble upbringing and robust values, she began her journey to be out there every day and give her best to society and make life better for the not so privileged.
A journey started as one (Ek) with the belief to being supported by many and to bring happiness to many (Anek)… Welcome to Ek Anek – Khushiyon Ka Karwa !
